Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 25 May 2026

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, renewals, and refund requests are handled for paid Tutortia platform products, including tutor subscriptions. Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service and the pricing, trial, and renewal information shown to you at checkout.

Tutortia’s current prices, promotional offers, trial periods, and subscription plans may change from time to time. The specific price, trial period, billing cycle, and renewal terms that apply to your purchase will be shown on the checkout page, receipt, or account billing page.

This introduction is intended to help you understand the structure of this Policy. The full Policy below controls refund and cancellation matters.

1. Scope of this Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to fees paid to Tutortia for tutor subscriptions and other Tutortia platform products we may offer from time to time.

Tutortia charges tutors for platform subscription access. Tutortia does not collect lesson fees, does not take commission from lesson fees, and does not process parent/student-to-tutor payments.

This Policy does not apply to lesson fees, lesson deposits, cancellation fees, make-up lessons, rescheduling, refunds, or payment disputes between tutors and parents/adult learners. Those matters are agreed directly between the tutor and the parent/adult learner.

2. Free trial

Tutortia may offer free trials, discounted periods, launch promotions, or other promotional subscription offers from time to time. The specific trial period, price, billing cycle, renewal date, and cancellation deadline will be shown on the checkout page, receipt, or account billing page.

You may be required to enter valid card details or another payment method to start a free trial or promotional subscription. If the trial or promotional period automatically converts to a paid subscription, the conversion timing and price will be shown to you before you start.

Where applicable, Tutortia may send a reminder before a free trial or promotional period converts to a paid subscription. You remain responsible for cancelling before the stated deadline if you do not want to be charged.

3. Paid subscription period

After a successful paid subscription charge, the tutor receives subscription access for the paid subscription period.

The paid subscription period is the billing period shown to you on the checkout page, receipt, or account billing page.

The subscription unlocks the ability to publish a tutor profile, appear in tutor directory/search, apply to cases, and receive contact disclosure after mutual acceptance, subject to Tutortia’s Terms of Service, profile review, platform rules, fair-use rules, and technical availability.

Tutortia does not guarantee profile approval, profile views, applications, matches, student enquiries, lesson bookings, tutor income, or any particular result.

4. Cancellation

Tutors may cancel their subscription at any time.

If cancellation occurs during a free trial before the stated cancellation deadline, the tutor will not be charged the subscription fee for that trial conversion.

If cancellation occurs after a successful paid subscription charge, cancellation stops the next renewal only. The tutor will normally continue to have subscription access until the end of the paid subscription period.

Tutortia does not provide prorated refunds for mid-term cancellation unless required by law or unless Tutortia decides otherwise as discretionary goodwill.

5. Auto-renewal

Tutor subscriptions auto-renew by default through Stripe unless cancelled before renewal.

If the subscription renews successfully, the renewal payment is treated as a successful subscription charge under this Policy.

Tutors are responsible for cancelling before the next renewal date if they do not want the subscription to renew.

6. Default refund rule

After a successful subscription charge, fees are generally non-refundable, except:

No refund is given merely because a tutor does not receive profile views, applications, matches, student enquiries, lesson bookings, students, or income.

No refund is given merely because a tutor changes their mind after the free trial has converted to a paid subscription, unless applicable law requires otherwise or Tutortia decides otherwise as discretionary goodwill.

7. Profile rejection or revision

Tutor profiles require review before public listing.

If a paid tutor profile is rejected or not approved, Tutortia will normally allow the tutor to revise the profile until it meets Tutortia’s requirements.

Profile rejection, profile revision, delay caused by incomplete profile information, or failure to meet platform requirements does not automatically entitle the tutor to a refund.

8. Suspension or termination for misconduct

If Tutortia suspends, restricts, hides, terminates, or bans a tutor account for Terms violations, fraud, unsafe conduct, misleading information, harassment, spam, abuse, misuse of contact details, or other misconduct, fees are non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

9. How to request cancellation or a refund

To request cancellation support or a refund review, please contact hello@tutortia.com and include:

10. Refund processing time

Approved refunds are usually processed within 10 business days after approval. Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may take additional time to show the refund.

Refunds are normally returned to the original payment method unless Tutortia or the payment processor determines that another method is required.

11. Chargebacks

If you dispute a payment through your bank or card issuer, your access to paid features may be suspended while the dispute is reviewed.

Please contact hello@tutortia.com first if you believe there has been a billing error.

12. Changes to this Policy

Tutortia may update this Policy from time to time. The updated Policy will be posted on the Platform with a new “Last updated” date.

Changes will not reduce rights that already apply to an existing paid subscription period unless permitted by applicable law.
