How do I contact a tutor?

Choose a tutor you are interested in, then submit your learning needs, preferred lesson arrangements and your WhatsApp number. The tutor has 72 hours to decide whether to accept your request. You do not need an account to send a request.

Is my WhatsApp number visible before the tutor accepts?

Accepted Answer

No. Your WhatsApp number remains private until the tutor accepts your request. Only then does Tutortia pass it to that tutor, together with the contact name you entered — and if you have an account, you see the tutor’s number in return.

What happens after a tutor accepts my request?

Once the tutor accepts, Tutortia immediately unlocks the WhatsApp numbers on both sides. The tutor can message you straight away, and if you have an account you will find the tutor’s number in your requests list so you can reach out first. From there you can get acquainted and discuss lesson times, locations, fees and other arrangements.

Before a tutor profile is published, Tutortia reviews it to make sure the information is complete and clearly presented, helping learners and parents make a more informed choice. Every tutor must also verify their WhatsApp number, so the number you receive after a successful match is always a working one.

Identity documents, academic records and professional certificates contain personal and potentially sensitive information. We do not believe it is appropriate for a third-party platform to retain unnecessary copies of these documents. We therefore encourage learners and parents to view the original documents directly with the tutor, which can be more reliable than relying solely on copies reviewed by a platform while also protecting tutors’ privacy.

Tutors can be reported if their profiles contain false or misleading information. Once a violation is confirmed, Tutortia may immediately suspend or remove the profile.

After creating an account, subscribing to the tutor plan and passing the profile review, tutors can appear in search results and receive requests from learners. Once a request is accepted, both sides can contact each other directly. Tutortia does not charge agency fees or take commissions from lessons, regardless of how many students a tutor takes on.
