Question 1

Is it free to find a tutor on Tutortia?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Learners and parents can browse tutor profiles, send requests and contact tutors who accept their requests for free. Tutortia does not charge learners or parents any platform fees, agency fees or commissions.

Question 2

How do I contact a tutor?

Accepted Answer

Choose a tutor you are interested in, then submit your learning needs, preferred lesson arrangements and your WhatsApp number. The tutor has 24 hours to decide whether to accept your request. You do not need an account to send a request.

Question 3

Is my WhatsApp number visible before the tutor accepts?

Accepted Answer

No. Your WhatsApp number remains private until the tutor accepts your request. Only then does Tutortia pass it to that tutor, together with the contact name you entered — and if you have an account, you see the tutor’s number in return.

Question 4

What happens after a tutor accepts my request?

Accepted Answer

Once the tutor accepts, Tutortia immediately unlocks the WhatsApp numbers on both sides. The tutor can message you straight away, and if you have an account you will find the tutor’s number in your requests list so you can reach out first. From there you can get acquainted and discuss lesson times, locations, fees and other arrangements.

Question 5

Does Tutortia verify tutors’ identities, qualifications and credentials?

Accepted Answer

Before a tutor profile is published, Tutortia reviews it to make sure the information is complete and clearly presented, helping learners and parents make a more informed choice. Every tutor must also verify their WhatsApp number, so the number you receive after a successful match is always a working one.

Identity documents, academic records and professional certificates contain personal and potentially sensitive information. We do not believe it is appropriate for a third-party platform to retain unnecessary copies of these documents. We therefore encourage learners and parents to view the original documents directly with the tutor, which can be more reliable than relying solely on copies reviewed by a platform while also protecting tutors’ privacy.

Tutors can be reported if their profiles contain false or misleading information. Once a violation is confirmed, Tutortia may immediately suspend or remove the profile.

Question 6

How can tutors find students on Tutortia?

Accepted Answer

After creating an account and passing the profile review, tutors can appear in search results and receive requests from learners. Once a request is accepted, both sides can contact each other directly. Tutortia does not charge agency fees or take commissions from lessons, regardless of how many students a tutor takes on.

Question 7

What kinds of tutors can join Tutortia?

Accepted Answer

Tutortia is designed for private academic, music and language tutors. Whether you teach full-time or part-time, you can apply to join if you want to build a public profile, reach more learners and communicate directly with learners or parents.

If you would rather not hand over hundreds or even thousands of dollars in agency fees or commissions every time you take on a new student, Tutortia is built for you.

Question 8

How is Tutortia different from a traditional tutoring agency?

Accepted Answer

With a traditional tutoring agency, tutor information, matching and contact channels are often controlled by the agency. Tutors, learners and parents may have less choice over who they connect with and how they communicate, while the agency earns revenue through administrative fees or commissions.

Tutortia uses a more open and transparent platform model. Learners and parents can browse tutor profiles, compare different options and send requests directly to the tutors they prefer. Once a tutor accepts, both sides can communicate and arrange lessons directly, keeping the choice and control in their own hands.

Tutortia does not collect lesson fees or charge either side agency fees or lesson commissions.

Question 9

Will Tutortia always be free for tutors?

Accepted Answer

Tutortia is free to use for everyone today. As the platform grows and delivers more value to tutors, we may introduce a paid subscription for tutors. Any pricing will be announced clearly and well in advance, before any charges apply.

One thing will not change: Tutortia takes no commission on lesson fees. What a learner pays for a lesson goes to the tutor, in full.
